Welcome to Simoncini Vineyards. We are a small family owned winery established in 2002. Our family roots in Sonoma County date back to 1907 when our grandfather came to America from Genoa, Italy and settled here with his two brothers. Our estate vineyards are planted in the rich red soil of the rolling hillsides that Dry Creek appellation is known for. Winemaker Jeff Cohn is well known for producing small lots of hand crafted zinfandel, drawing out the unmistakable character of the fruit from the terroir.
Using traditional methods, Ulises Valdez planted our vine rows with St. George rootstock, known as the premier root stock for this appellation. 100 year old St. Peter’s Church bud wood was then field grafted onto the rootstock. The grapes are picked by hand only when they have reached all the maturity and ripeness necessary to produce zinfandels of the highest quality. Ulises commitment to excellence is shown in the fruit year after year.
Our winery facility located at the base of our vineyards will be completed this year. The winery is an intimate venue that harkens back to the old world where you can taste wine in the cave amongst the barrels or picnic in the shade by the creek.
